We are situated 20 minutes from the Central Business District and only 30 minutes from Sydney Airport Freight Terminal where there are specialist shipping agents who can confidently ship items be they single items or whole container loads any where in the world and with a ‘white gloves’ door to door professional packing and delivery service if required.Īll stock is personally and individually selected by Peter based on its age, quality, style, originality, materials, provenance, value and condition. With a warehouse large enough to view the collection, we can arrange restoration, conservation, upholstery and all manner of skilled artisanal work involving fine antiques.

Now trading as Classic Antiques Sydney the business is run by Phyllis's son ( ex Interior Designer and Landscape Designer ) Peter Loughran who is one of Australia's most experienced and respected dealers in ‘fine’ English Antiques. In the main our collection represents English furniture from the late Georgian period through to the end of the Victorian period - 1770 to 1901 and is supplemented with French Antiques plus Decor items including Clocks, Statuary, Lamps, Mirrors, Boxes and Collectables. Then a move to the Eastern Suburbs to the newly opened Woollahra Galleries on Oxford Street for 5 years before relocating to Queen Street Woollahra and helping to pioneer what was Sydney's most prestigious and internationally recognised antiques shopping strip for over 25 years before the business moved to very large showrooms in Camperdown opposite Sydney University for 16 years before securing a large warehouse at Lewisham in the Inner West in 2017 in order to place the collection under one roof. Trading there for years before moving to a larger and more prominent two storey corner premises also on Glebe Point Road.

Phyllis May Loughran who was a woman of great style started as a women's fashion designer and retailer with her cutting edge designs from her House of Tomorrow during the late 1950's and opened Gaslight Antiques in a charming Victorian heritage cottage on historic Glebe Point Road, Glebe in 1962. Classic Antiques Sydney is recognised as one of the the best and oldest established family antique dealership in Sydney.
